Rising by the Noguera Pallaresa River, we arrive at the Pallars Sobira, a high mountain region of 1376 km2 and 58 km in length (from north to south). To the South it is the Pallars Jussá region, to the North the Occitean earth, to the East the Alt Urgell region, and to the West it is the Valle of Aran and the Ribagorça.

The Pallars sobira is made up of a valley assembly that surrounds the pallaresa Noguera River, which crosses the region in direction north south. One of these valleys is the Aneu Valleys.
